Common Metaphysical Themes
Did you know, metaphysically speaking, that:
- Jesus represents our Christ potential realized;
- Bethlehem represents the abiding place of Universal
Substance;
- Peter symbolizes our maturing faith quality;
- John represents our capacity for love, which sees
universal harmony and oneness;
- Nazareth symbolizes that place in consciousness
where we awaken to the Christ Presence within us
and bring It into expression;
- Mary Magdalene represents our deeply psychic and
intuitive nature;
- A barren fig tree symbolizes an unproductive,
sense-prone state of consciousness;
- Resurrection represents the complete alignment
of our human self with our Christ Self;
- The many mansions Jesus speaks of are states of
consciousness.
Are you familiar with the story of Jesus feeding of
the 5,000? Select one of your favorite translations
(NIV, NRSV, KJV, etc.) and turn to this story, found
in Matthew 14:13-21. Read it in conjunction with the
following metaphysical treatment:
The Feeding of the Five Thousand (from
The Gospel of Matthew, New Metaphysical Version)
13. We take the matter to Spirit in prayer because
we know in Spirit that we can master our emotions
and sense gratifications. 14. The Christ in us understands
our confusion and seeks to strengthen our bond with
Spirit. 15. At the human level we may feel bound
by circumstances that appear to offer nothing but
lack and limitation, and so we may settle for sensory
fulfillment instead of spiritual sustenance. 16.
But the Jesus of us knows we need only to be fed
by Spirit. 17. If our only discernment is through
our five senses, oftentimes we will see a lack of
resources or fail to see the value of the resources
we have. 18. But Spirit sees only abundance. 19.
When we trust Spirit and bless what we have, we will
find we have sufficient resources at our disposal.
20. And when we do this, each of our twelve spiritual
faculties will be so enriched that we become aware
of an endless supply of Universal Substance. 21.
And it is from this elevated perspective that all
five of our physical senses will evolve into their
higher spiritual essences.
This interpretation gives you an idea of the richness
of metaphysical Christianity. Each of these New
Metaphysical Gospels is intended for use along-side traditional
versions of the Bible. We recommend using them as study
guides for group study, as well as for private study,
meditation, and daily readings. It is suggested that
traditional Gospel versions be used as supplements
to this version so readers can compare traditional
content to the metaphysical
content of the NMV: verse-by-verse,
chapter-by-chapter. We have provided both wings and
landing gears with these metaphysical
renderings, so
they are both practical and down to earth. We have
opted for understandability and clarity instead of
loftiness and vagueness.
We hope you will not only enjoy these metaphysical
renderings of the Gospels, but that both your spirituality
and appreciation for the richness of the New Testament
will be deepened.
